Water and More Water
It rained for 11 days in El Salvador, leaving, as a result, more hunger, disease and destruction in our country than usual.
Although the rains struck throuhgout El Salvador and other Central American countries, I want to share with you what happened to our neighbors in the historic city of Chalchuapa.
The first day of rain was like a deluge. It rained more than it might have rained in two months in El Salvador. For the inhabitants of Las Victorias and Bendicion de Dios neighborhoods, as well as the community of El Castano, just a block away from our church, the streets looked like rivers.? Houses built of adobe could not withstand the rain and many of them just crumbled.
