Dear Praying Partners,
On November 6, 2009, we are scheduled to fly to Yaounde, Cameroon, arriving in Yaounde on Saturday. Sunday will be a day of rest and preparation for the upcoming week. Monday through Friday we will be training eight people from Francophone, Africa, on how to raise funds in Africa. There is a growing desire to fund their own ministry and to begin sending missionaries to North Africa and to Europe. Needless to say, this is very strategic.
It will also be very interesting to teach materials that are based on experiences in North America, and at the same time to help them adjust the principles and practices to fit their culture. Please pray that we will all be Spirit-led as we go through this week of training.
On this segment of the trip, we are heavily laden with training materials and with technology that the ministry in Cameroon has requested (one desktop, a laptop, two mini netbooks, one external hard drive, three external CD/DVD drives, a digital camera, a voice recorder). Please pray that these materials and equipment will escape the eyes of thieves and customs officials.
On Saturday, November 14, we depart Yaounde for Paris, then Istanbul, and then Antalya, Turkey, arrivinge in Antalya on Sunday. The next three days we will attend the NAMESTAN National Directors Conference. This will be an exciting time of hearing ministry reports from each nation. There will be more than 30 partners there from North America - an amazing response in these tumultuous times. Please pray for protection from the eyes and ears of radical Islam!
On Thursday morning, November 19, we leave Antalya to begin a tour of the 7-Churches of the Book of Revelation along with 20 partners from North America. This is an incredible tour ? we learn so much about the history of the church in this part of the world, and about the ongoing battles with Islam. The government of Turkey has been secular for many years, but now there is a growing alliance with Iran and many are trying to convert it to an Islamic State. Please pray for safe travels, great learning, and renewed energy to take the Gospel to the corners of the Earth.
On November 23, we depart Istanbul for Amsterdam and then on to Minneapolis. This Thanksgiving, as always, we are blessed beyond measure! Thanks for Praying!
Blessings to you!
Jerry and Kathy
