But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. Luke 15:26

Dear family at Pacific Coast,
The verse above has been on my mind lately as we recently completed two English camps for kids here in Central Asia who are 8 to14 years old. During the camps, we told the story of the prodigal son. If you?ll remember, there are two sons in the story, the one who stayed and the one who left and squandered his fathers inheritance. The verse above describes the reaction of the first son to the fathers generosity and forgiveness of the prodigal. Interestingly, our students seemed to relate to the first son. Their religious background has taught them to earn their way to God and they were offended that anyone should get off so easily as the wayward brother. They are like the Pharisees to whom Jesus told the parable (Luke 15:2). Please pray that God would open their hearts to see that we are all prodigals, in need of His forgiveness.
We ask for your continued prayers regarding the completion of our kids? school and permission to occupy. The starting date for classes is August 29 and we are praying that it will be ready by that date. Thanks for praying for ?Racso?, a friend who dedicated himself to the Lord recently and is battling different addictions in his life. He wants to follow Jesus, and we are thankful for the steps he is taking. Please continue to pray for us that we may master the language here as we seek to communicate His love for others.
Thanks again for remembering us in the work here.? In Christ?s love,?? David & Betsy Reeve
