ILF Prayer June 2011

ILF has received invitations to be involved well beyond Africa. Please pray that God would guide our Resource Development team led by Jerry and Kathy Ball. Pray for new connections with people and foundations in the US and elsewhere that have a heart for reaching leaders and engaging them in leadership development and training.

Cindy Mitchel has made progress on the update of the web site, but has had to put it aside due to other projects. Pray that God would multiply her time and allow her to skillfully, yet quickly move through her project list so she can ready the site for launch by July 1.

Thank God for the progress being made for AFREG 3 slated for September 24-28, 2012. The topics have been selected and potential speakers are being considered. Continue to pray for the Program Committee and for a strong Host Committee to be formed in Zambia. Pray for favor, availability, funding and for all the other details to that need to come together for a successful event with long-lasting results.

Pray for the annual meeting of the ILF Executive Board which will be held on August 26 in Orlando. Thank God for the faithful service of current board members and pray for those who are considering joining. Pray too for the upcoming Board conference call on June 14 as plans for the annual meeting are discussed. Pray that each member will be inspired and invigorated by the possibilities the Lord is offering to ILF to build leaders of integrity across the globe.

Thank you for praying for Leone Kahembe who is converting Dela's book 'Revival and Spiritual Awakening' into an eBook format. She is continuing to make good progress. She reports: ?Thanks for the amazing prayer support thus far. I am greatly aware of it in many aspects." Continue to pray for Leone to have clarity, motivation, creativity, life-balance and personal growth in the Lord through the editing process. Pray too for copyright issues surrounding all eBooks. Pray that intellectual property will be protected even as the desire exists for the ideas to have a far-reaching effect.

Benin and Cote d?Ivoire

There is still interest in holding a francophone AFREG. This event was originally planned for last year in Abidjan, Cote d?Ivoire. For many reasons, not the least of them being the civil war in Cote d?Ivoire, it has been postponed. The new hope is to hold it later this year in Cotonou, Benin. Pray for peace and stability to return to Cote d?Ivoire and for wisdom on how best to move forward with a Francophone AFREG.

Burundi

Thank God for the recent audience the ILU leadership had with President Nkurunziza of Burundi. Pray for continued favor at every level of Burundian leadership and culture.

Pray for the team in Bujumbura as they make preparations for the official opening celebration of ILU Burundi slated for August 12, 2011.

A TLS 1 is now scheduled to take place in Bujumbura from August 9-11 to precede the ILU Burundi celebration on the 12th. Pray for God to provide the funds from within the country to cover the costs for this training. The people in this culture are not accustomed to paying significantly for this type of seminar. Pray that the Lord will open hearts and minds to this shift in mentality. Pray for God to draw the people He is calling, for them to see the value and to joyfully make this sacrifice for themselves, their families, the country and God?s Kingdom.

Cameroon

Pray for effective follow through from TLS 1 as each group has designed a transformational project and has agreed to implement it.

As the new session of parliament begins, pray for favor with the president of the parliament and the president of Cameroon as the MP?s who attended the TLS in March seek to fulfill their project of hosting a TLS for fellow parliamentarians.

We are grateful for the progress which is being made, but please continue to pray for the provision of finances to make up the deficit for this TLS, follow-up of each participant, clear communication and organization on every level and in every direction.

Sylvia Tipa has taken the lead in providing prayer support for ILF Cameroon. Pray for Sylvia as she adjusts to her new role. Ask the Lord to continue to bring others alongside her who will commit to pray consistently for the vision of transformation in Cameroon and that there will be a workable time and location for regular gatherings. Pray for the protection of intercessors so they will not be hindered from fulfilling their calling to stand in the gap for ILF Cameroon.

Young Leaders League (Y2L) will have their annual camp again this July. Pray for Victor and Florence Manyim as they work intently to prepare for this important experience. Ask the Lord to bring all the young people He is calling and that there would be genuine transformation in these lives as camp environments are so conducive to initiating permanent change.

Chad

Thank God for the productive and encouraging time Kelly Madden and Victor Manyim had in Chad. Victor gave a presentation on the Young Leaders League and received many positive comments. Several leaders are now interested in starting Y2L in Chad. Kelly presented twice on the theological foundations of ILF and transformational leadership.

The newly elected leaders of ?Fondation Tchadienne pour le Leadership? (FTL) (the name of ILF in Chad), a body of over 200 Christian leaders, are aware of the high expectations people have on them. Pray for wisdom from the Lord as this new team trusts God for their initial steps toward leading transformation in Chad. Pray for the best way forward as they consider hiring administrative staff to tend to the many details that these busy men are challenged to complete.

Support the FTL prayer department as they work to expand the scope of prayer at every level which is needed to experience genuine transformation in this nation.

DRC

Please pray for the ILF leadership team in Kinshasa as they implement the specific plans that were developed when Tim Mwangi visited in April. Pray as they seek to connect with the more than 500 people who attended TLS 1 and the 200+ who attended TLS 2. Pray the team will be able to connect with the majority of these participants and that they will be willing and able to join transformational project teams as a means of follow-up to their seminar experience.

Pray for preparations to begin for a TLS 3 to be held in the same general time frame as a TLS 1 for the Prayer Breakfast group. The desired goal is to conduct both events in early December 2011.

Ethiopia

Pray for the continued training of the 30 emerging leaders in leadership development issues using ILF principles. The next module is scheduled for September 2011.

Ghana

Thank God for a successful launch of AFREG-Ghana on Tuesday, May 10. This event raised broad awareness of the national forum which will be held in Accra from July 18-22.

Continue to ask the Lord to provide the needed funds for this event from within the country. The committees are working hard to have sufficient funds in hand which help to make AFREG-Ghana a success. Please pray for continual favor with individuals, churches, organizations and businesses as they are challenged to participate financially. Pray too for informal networking to spread favor and opportunity for involvement at every level. Continually thank God for the wonderful progress that has been made thus far.

Invitations have been sent to speakers and dignitaries. Please pray for favorable responses and availability for all whom the Lord has called to attend and participate.

Pray for the growing network of intercessors to stay the course and for a continual flow of information of fresh requests and answers to prayers to keep them inspired.

Thank God for the progress being made in remodeling the ILF office building in Accra. Pray for the remaining details to come together quickly and excellently so the team will be able to function more efficiently with increased capacity.

Kenya

Pray for godly wisdom as Dr. Emmanuel Bellon and Dr. Mike Wicker meet with several educational specialists in Nairobi from July 4-8 to work on the curriculum design for the ILU PhD program.

Pray for the upcoming TLS 2 on June 13 and 14 at the Red Court Hotel in Nairobi. Thank God for the lead facilitator, Dr. Kwesi Atta-Krah, Deputy Director General of Bioversity International and a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) based in Rome, Italy. Also lift up our other facilitators for the June TLS: Dr. Emmanuel Bellon, Mr. John Ng'ang'a, Mr. Tim Mwangi, Dr. James Mageria, Eng. Lucy Njambi, Bishop Joseph Kanuku and Professor Margaret Kobia. Please pray for protection, favor, grace and wisdom for all involved.

Continue to pray for the follow-up of the new participants as well as the 400+ participants who have already attended some level of TLS in Kenya. There are also 20 individuals who are working through the 18-24 month process to qualify as certified ILF leadership coaches.

Continue to lift up the staff of Nairobi Water Company who attended the TLS 1 in February and are now working together on a transformational project.

Please pray for a suitable ILF office where executives and government officials can come for meetings. The current office will be among the buildings which are demolished when a large-scale construction project begins soon at ILU Kenya.

Thank God for the many Kenyans who financially support the work of ILF Kenya. Ask the Lord to continue to expand the numbers of people we minister with and that many more will become involved as financial partners.

South Sudan

Doors are opening for a TLS and other ILF involvement in the new country of South Sudan. Pray for God to continue to keep these doors open and for ILF to receive favor. Pray that the leaders of this young country will be able to avoid the usual pitfalls of so many African governments and begin with a firm foundation on God?s truth.

Togo

Please pray for the Holy Spirit to continue to move in the hearts of leaders in Togo to bring transformation for the glory of God.

Uganda

Lift up Dickson Obwoya as he serves in his new position as national team leader for Uganda and as the catalyst to reinvigorate the conversation with Ugandan leadership surrounding ILF and AFREG.? Ask the Lord for favor, wisdom, and participation of God?s chosen leaders who are both willing and able to move forward God?s mission of societal transformation in Uganda.

Zimbabwe

Praise the Lord for a successful first TLS in Harare in April. The 100 individuals who participated have gained a vision for transformation in their personal and professional lives. Pray for each of them to bring genuine change to their spheres of influence. Thank God for the solid momentum that exists there. Please continue to pray for each group to implement their transformational projects. Pray for the team on the ground to be effective in their follow-up with each participant.

Pray for the Zimbabwe team as they plan for a TLS 2 in October.

Pray for divine guidance as Dr. Mike Wicker teaches 'Organizational Development' at ALMA (ILU-Zimbabwe) from June 20-24. Pray that the personal life transformation of each student will spill over into their organizations where they can be agents of change based on moral integrity and application of best practices.
