ILF Prayer MAY 2011

We pray that the Lord will strengthen us as leaders, growing in the love of Jesus and personal holiness as we live out our mission of building leaders of integrity to spearhead transformation in Africa and beyond.

ILF has received invitations to be involved well beyond Africa. Please pray that God would guide our Resource Development team led by Jerry and Kathy Ball. Pray for new connections with people and foundations in the US and elsewhere that have a heart for reaching leaders and engaging them in leadership development and training.

Please lift up Cindy Mitchell who is in the process of upgrading the ILF website (transformingleadership.com).? She has been working hard on this project for quite some time. Pray the new information will upload smoothly and accurately. Pray too that this site will become an even more effective tool for the promoting ILF and disseminating information.

Thank God for the progress being made on AFREG 3 slated for September 2012. The topics have been selected and invitations will soon be sent to potential speakers. Pray for favor, availability, funding and for all the other details to come together well.

Pray for the annual meeting of the ILF Executive Board scheduled for August 26 in Orlando. We are praying for additional members to join this board. Pray for excellent communication leading up to and during this meeting. Pray the Board will be inspired and invigorated by the possibilities the Lord is offering to ILF to build leaders of integrity across the globe.

Thank you for praying for Leone Kahembe who is converting Dela's book 'Revival and Spiritual Awakening' into an eBook format. She has faced some significant opposition in the number of "coincidences" cropping up that keep her from the project. She is currently making good progress. She reports: ?Thanks for the amazing prayer support thus far. I am greatly aware of it in many aspects." Continue to pray for Leone to have clarity, motivation, creativity, life balance and personal growth in the Lord throughout the editing process.

Benin and Cote d?Ivoire
There is still interest in holding a Francophone AFREG. This event was originally planned for last year in Abidjan, Cote d?Ivoire. For many reasons, not the least of these being the civil war in Cote d?Ivoire, this regional gathering was postponed. The new hope is to hold the forum later this year in Cotonou, Benin. Pray for peace and stability in Cote d?Ivoire and for wisdom on how best to move forward with plans for a Francophone AFREG.

Burundi

Pray for the team in Bujumbura as they make preparations for the official opening celebration of ILU Burundi slated for August 12, 2011.

Thank God for the gift of a six-acre site on the shores of Lake Tanganyika to develop a campus for ILU Burundi. Please continue to pray that the legal work will go smoothly and will be completed in a timely manner.

Cameroon

Thank God for the initial TLS held in Cameroon last March. The Members of Parliament (MPs) who attended continue to meet and prepare for a TLS for Members of Parliament. The new dates for this training seminar are mid-June. This requires much favor, especially from the President of the Parliament. His openness will facilitate the project greatly.

Pray for effective follow through from TLS 1 as each group has designed a transformational project and agreed to implement it.

Other follow-up requests include provision of finances to make up the deficit for this TLS, follow-up of each participant, clear communication and organization on every level and in every direction.

Sylvia Tipa is taking the lead in providing prayer support for ILF Cameroon. Pray for Sylvia as she adjusts to her new role. Ask the Lord to bring together others alongside her who will commit to pray consistently for the vision of transformation in Cameroon and that a workable time and location will be found for regular gatherings.

Young Leaders League (Y2L) will have their annual camp again this July. Pray for Victor and Florence Manyim as they work intently to prepare for this life-building activity. Ask the Lord to bring all the young people He is calling to attend and for genuine transformation in these lives as camp environments are so conducive to initiating permanent change.

Chad

Pray for Kelly Madden and Victor Manyim who will be in Chad to meet with the group seeking governmental recognition for AFREG Chad as an organization. This group consists of more than 20 key leaders including the current Prime Minister, current and past MPs, military generals, CEOs and heads of NGOs. As these leaders gather together on May 13 and 14, they will be discussing the biblical and philosophical basis for societal transformation. These discussions will help prepare them to present the vision confidently to all who may question the value of this approach. Pray for each of these leaders to run with the vision that will help bring long-lasting stability and transformation to Chad.

DRC

Please pray for the TLS leadership team in Kinshasa as they implement the specific plans that were developed when Tim Mwangi visited last month. Pray they will follow the concrete and achievable steps that were identified to bring the plan to pass.

Ethiopia

The Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI) is a strategy for equipping young Campus Crusade for Christ International (CCCI) national staff leaders in Africa. ELI is a two-year accelerated development program that includes structured coaching, intensive reading, written assignments, daily journal reflections, and attending a ten-day residential training every six months.

Pray for the continued training of the 30 emerging leaders in leadership development issues using ILF principles. The next module is scheduled for September.

Ghana

Thank God for the excellent progress in organizing AFREG Ghana. The last meeting of the Advisory Board went very well. Thank you for praying!

Pray for the successful introduction of AFREG Ghana on Tuesday, May 10. This gathering is planned to raise awareness of AFREG Ghana which will be held in Accra July 18-22, 2011.

Continue to ask the Lord to provide the needed funds for this event from within Ghana. Ask for continual favor with individuals, churches, organizations and businesses as they are challenged to participate financially. Pray too that informal networking will spread favor and opportunity for involvement at every level. Thank God for the progress that has been made.

Invitations have been sent to speakers and dignitaries. Please pray for favorable responses and availability for all whom the Lord has called to attend and participate.

Pray for the growing network of intercessors to stay the course and for a continual flow of information of fresh requests and answers to prayers to keep them inspired.

Kenya

Pray for the upcoming TLS 2, June 13 & 14, that will take place at the Red Court Hotel in Nairobi. Thank God for the lead facilitator,?Dr. Kwesi Atta?Krah, who has confirmed his participation. Dr. Kwesi is currently Deputy Director General of Bioversity International and a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) based in Rome, Italy. Please lift up our other facilitators for the June 2011 TLS who are Dr. Emmanuel Bellon, Mr. John Ng'ang'a, Mr. Tim Mwangi, Dr. James Mageria, Eng. Lucy Njambi, Bishop Joseph Kanuku and Professor Margaret Kobia. Please pray for protection, favor, grace and wisdom.

Continue to pray for follow-up of the 400+ participants who have already attended some level of TLS, as well as the 20 who have completed all three levels of TLS plus the advanced coaching sessions. These 20 are working through the 18-24 month process to qualify as certified ILF leadership coaches.

Thank God for and support with your prayers the Nairobi Water Company staff who attended the TLS in February 2011. As a group, they have started working on a transformational project.

Please pray for a suitable office where executives and government officials can come for meetings. The current office will be among the buildings demolished when the large-scale construction project begins soon at NIST.

Thank God for the many Kenyans who financially support ILF Kenya. Ask the Lord to continue to expand the numbers of people we minister with and that many more will become involved financially.

South Sudan

Doors are opening for a TLS and other ILF involvement in the new country of South Sudan. Pray for God to continue to keep these doors open and for ILF to receive favor. Pray that this young country will be able to avoid the usual pitfalls of so many African governments and begin with a firm foundation on God?s truth.

Togo

Please pray for the Holy Spirit to continue to move in the hearts of leaders in Togo to bring transformation for the glory of God.

Zimbabwe

Praise the Lord for a successful first TLS in Harare last month. There were 100 key leaders in attendance from the fields of government, business, education and the church. Those who participated have gained a vision for their personal moral and leadership transformation with the goal of changing the way they work and bringing genuine change to their spheres of influence. A solid foundation has been laid and momentum is increasing. Please pray for each group to implement the transformational projects they identified during the seminar. Also pray for the team on the ground to effectively follow up each participant.

This report is from Dr. Dwight Mutonono, Principal of ILU-Zimbabwe:

?April was an amazing month.?We are still trying to take in the magnitude of what happened?last month. First, we had the Transforming Leadership Seminar, which was very exciting and?managed to attract some key leaders in society?.

Second, we?managed to meet with Prime Minister Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai. We talked for about one and a half hours with him.?Victor Koh did most of the talking and presented the Singapore model which helped transform Singapore from a third world to a first world country in one generation, giving strategies of how?a country like Zimbabwe could do the same.?It was exciting to see the possibilities!?

Pray for the Zimbabwe team as they plan for TLS 2 in October.
