Missionary Update: Mark & Carolyn Williams
Post Date: 2010-11-19 20:24:31
The entire world needs Jesus, but some places are especially desperate for Christ. One of those countries is Colombia, where since 1985, 210,000 have been killed and more than 4.5 million displaced by paramilitary violence. It is the Western Hemisphere?s worst humanitarian crisis.
But there is hope in the Good News of Jesus Christ. November 7-13 I am headed to Bogota, Colombia to offer DCPI ministry training to the 1,000 or so church leaders gathered there for a Call2All Conference. I will be sharing one of the main sessions, leading a workshop and sharing (through an interpreter) with individual leaders how they can receive the training in church planting we offer. Note: in the USA we have a glut of training but in many places around the world there is a "Training Famine."
Please pray for:
1.Safety
2.Anointed conversations
3.Meeting with the right people who can benefit most
4.The Spirit?s guidance
Here are some other PRAYER REQUESTS:
1.Much of Mark?s time the last few months has been spent developing a new course (track) of training on the topic Growing New Churches. This will be taught for the first time in early December and will soon be spread around the world to our 3,000 trainers on every inhabited continent of the earth. Please pray for the final writing done by Mark and Pastor Hal Seed. Other training that Mark has written part or most of will be presented to perhaps 8,000 church planters this year!
2.Recruitment. This year we have almost doubled our home office staff! However, a lot more staff members are needed: full time, part time and volunteer. Please pray we get the needed staff members.
3.This is the time year people usually give most generously. Please pray for abundant provision for our ministry.
Some PRAISES:
1.Our new DCPI website is a great improvement in many ways. Please see it at: www.dcpi.org. One of the exciting parts is the "Weekly Courage" devotions on the home page that will eventually be part of the book we are writing.
2 Emmanuel Donkoh, our West African World Zone Leader, recently reported that 500 Africans were trained over the summer in many DCPI training events. All were nationally funded?no funds had to be provided. Based on past averages, this means that 2,300 churches will be planted by these leaders. Best of all, they will lead 108,000 people to Christ in the coming five years or so!
3.Earlier this year I was able to make a second contact with Palestinian leaders in Bethlehem to offer our ministry. Last month their Pastor?s Council voted to host DCPI training there next year. Praise God. With all the turmoil in that area, Jesus is the only real answer.
4.This week Carolyn and I are on vacation in Mexico. (If you reply to this email, it may take a while to get back to you.)
Thanks so much for your prayers and support.
In Christ,
Mark
