MSM Sunday Service Time Change
Hello PCC Middle Schoolers and Parents,
I just wanted to send out a letter informing you of an important upcoming change that will affect our MSM Sunday services. As a staff, we feel, and are confident, that these changes will greatly improve the quality of our weekend Middle School Ministry experience! After much prayer and thought we have decided to shift to one MSM weekend service, meeting at the 9:00am service only, starting on June 14 (“Move-Up Day”). We will also be changing rooms, from B1 to B3 (aka “HSM bungalow”). This service will be an MSM ONLY service (as HSM will meet in there at the 10:45am service). We know that this may not be ideal for every family (at first), however we are confident that the positives outweigh the negatives. To give you some insight, here are some of the many reasons why we have decided to make this change…
1. Excitement–more enthusiasm with more students, rather than 2 divided services (typically one small and one large).
2. Unity–the whole group gets to see and interact with each other every week.
3. Space–moving to a bigger/”cooler” room (B1 can get very cramped feeling at a “full” service, while B3 is large & comfy).
4. Atmosphere–more fun/activities with games/media/music “stuff”
5. Worship–bands will be leading worship almost every Sunday (currently, because of space issues and resources, the MSM has had no musical worship on the weekends… and we know how powerful music can be for students. This will be a huge area of improvement!)
6. Leaders—more opportunity for leaders to be involved in the service and interacting with students on the weekends (as well as Tuesdays at “Breakaway”)
7. Teaching–one lesson for MSM, by the same teacher, gives Pastor Darren & other speakers the ability to spend more time on the message and interacting with students. (currently, the speaker schedule is mixed and messages differ from service to service… meaning students would not always hear the same message as other msm’ers. This change will help w/ consistent teaching.)
The typical weekly service will continue to include a time for students to hang out, eat donuts, play games, hear music, watch videos, worship with a band, interact with leaders, study God’s Word, and hear a message from the Bible delivered in a life-applicable, middle-school-relevant, and hopefully life-changing way!
Thank you for your support, and we’re happy to be serving you and your family as we partner together towards knowing and following Christ!
God bless, Pastor Darren
